Dear Friends and Families:

North Shore Helpers has spent the last few weeks collecting donations to help the front line staff at various local hospitals. With the enormous generosity from you, our organization was able to feed over 500 meals to hundreds of hospital workers. Thank you!!!

Due to the large outpouring from everyone around the area, many hospitals are being well provided with food. Therefore, North Shore Helpers has decided to transfer our efforts to the charity we have been very involved with: The Primo Center. The Primo Center is the city’s largest operator of shelter and comprehensive wraparound services for homeless families, with four shelters and one permanent housing site on the South and West Sides of Chicago serving more than 1,000 parents and children annually.

The Primo Center provides shelter and care for Chicago’s most vulnerable citizens – homeless families. They are desperately trying to keep the children and families safe and healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic that is disrupting the world. With less staff working more hours and children not allowed to go to school, the needs are increasing every day.

To date, Primo Center has more than $200,000 of cost exposure through added expenses to keep all of our buildings safe and that number continues to grow. They desperately need basic and essentials items: hygiene products, diapers, wipes, masks, toiletries, and food. North Shore Helpers and the Primo Center are committed to remaining a resource for vulnerable families, now more than ever, and we are asking for donations to help these families in need. Thank you.

Many people in Chicago will go without this holiday season. What if you could change that?

Since 2016, North Shore Helpers has hand-delivered gifts and new merchandise to individuals in under-served communities, made possible by your generous donations. We believe that everyone deserves to celebrate the holidays, and our purpose is to leverage the resources of the North Shore to help people in need.

This year, we will be returning to The Primo Center For Women and Children in the Englewood neighborhood in Chicago and we hope to exceed what we delivered last year. Please help us change lives by donating today.
